Life Plan Coaching
Many executives created incredible results from being extremely driven, focused and committed and they have lost their way on how to “be.” Hobbies, passions and interests have been kept put away in a desk drawer waiting for enough time and success to arrive. Essentially, they don’t know how to get off the treadmill.
You may identify with North American thinking: if we DO enough, we will HAVE enough and then we will BE enough.
We get caught because there is always more to DO.
We know we can always Do a better job, Do more challenges, Do greater achievements, etc. We’re really never completely satisfied with what we’ve done or how we’ve done it, so we don’t believe we deserve to HAVE the results we have achieved.
Our need to HAVE is endless because we are seeking internal gratification externally, and we don’t feel satisfied with ourselves. We never feel we have accomplished enough, so we don’t feel the freedom to experience BEING a success.
The paradigm shift is that rather than living our lives with the DO-HAVE-BE mentality, we create well-being and success from focusing on who we are BEING first and, from there, what actions we commit to DOING and enjoy HAVING a life filled with meaning and prosperity.
In midlife planning, we explore values, passions, buried dreams, interests, purpose and create a plan that will support our vitality today and into the future. Clarity and direction ensures our life was well lived.
Learning how to “BE” is a new skill learned for those who have relied on what they “DO” to feel personal satisfaction. Outcomes from creating a Life Plan include fulfillment, higher levels of positivity, increased zest for life and excitement about the future. Coaching provides the tools, support, feedback and accountability to instigate the changes needed to send you on your way.
